Xion Mutant

The Xion Mutant is a cross  between an Etna (C. annuum) and a candlelight mutant (C. annuum) by Ronnj Ruvolo in Italy. We have found it to grow bigger and to be higher yield than the original Candlelight Mutant pepper. The Candlight Mutant in turn was discovered by Rauno Selamaa (aka. Bluesman) from Finland in 2009.
 
We have found these seeds to germinate very easily and the plant is very forgiving in dry conditions- possibly due to the small water content in the leaves. 
 
Althought the thin-walled pods are perfectly edible and even have a little kick, this uniuqe plant is primarily grown for ornamental reasons by the kind of pepperhead who would like to try something completely new and different — but also by someone picking up the hobby who would like a unique variety that's easy to grow.
