Aji Charapita Iquitos
A rare wild pepper from Iquitos, Peru. Very high yield and unique taste, especially for a Cap. chinense. Plants are often kept in or close to the kitchen like a herb as you'll always be able to find a few pods to throw into your dinner. We smoked and dehydrated these to use as a smokey condiment (see photo).
The Iquitos variety is said to be slightly larger than the normal Charapita but we did not find a noticeable difference in this strain (some sellers even list these as the smaller version of the two). The Charapita is also often described as the most expensive pepper in the world — call us when you've made your millions, we're still trying.
